Although a bit formal (in the CS sense) in its presentation this is a |
good introductory paper in ontology. It provides overview and |
definition of ontology and conceptualization, and the use of |
ontology in information systems. By using information system in |
the broadest sense, the paper provides insight as to how any |
computer system can benefit from the use of ontology. The paper |
discusses the use of ontology in information system from a |
temporal perspective (development time and runtime) and |
structural perspective (database, UI, and code). |
